静岡最古の酒蔵

寛永13年（1636年）屋号を「足名屋」とし、初代当主・橋本九郎右衛門が駿府城からほど近い場所（現在の静岡市葵区中町）で酒造業をはじめました。明治9年（1876年）には藤枝市岡部町の造り酒屋を買収し第2醸造所として操業を開始。後に岡部町の蔵に一本化されて現在に至ります。現存する中では静岡県で最古、全国でも31番目に古い歴史を持つ酒蔵です。銘柄である『初亀』は「初日のように光り輝き、亀のように末永く栄える」事を願い命名されました。
当蔵は全国的にも早くから「吟醸づくり」に着手した蔵のひとつで、昭和42年（1967年）には主要な3つの鑑評会においていずれも第1位を獲得したことを記念し「大吟醸 愛」の市販を開始。続く昭和52年（1977年）には「日本で最も高価な日本酒」として当時の小売価格1万円の「秘蔵大吟醸 亀」の発売に踏み切り、「大吟醸の初亀」として全国にその名を馳せ、高級日本酒の市場創出に貢献しました。

Shizuoka’s Oldest Sake Brewery

Hatsukame Sake Brewery traces its history back to 1636, when the first generation, Kurouemon Hashimoto, established a brewing business under the trading name Ashinaya, not far from Sunpu Castle. In 1868, he acquired a sake brewing business in Okabe-cho, Fujieda City, and turned it into the brewery’s second brewery.  Brewing operations were later consolidated there, where the brewery has brewed ever since. We are the oldest brewery in Shizuoka and the 31st oldest in Japan. The name Hatsukame, which means first turtle, embodies our hope that our sake will shine as bright as the first sunrise and flourish like a turtle forever. We were one of the first breweries in Japan to start using ginjo brewing techniques, and in 1967, created the Ai (love) Daiginjo product to celebrate winning all three major sake competitions. This was followed in 1977 by the launch of Hizo Daiginjo Kame, which with a retail price of 10,000 yen, was Japan’s highest-priced sake and not only helped establish it as a daiginjo brewery, but also helped develop the high-class sake market.
